Raids, arrests as German police probe Dresden jewelry theft

BERLIN (AP) – More than 1,500 police carried out a sequence of searches in Berlin and arrested two individuals in a large operation related to the spectacular theft of 18th-century jewels from a singular assortment in Dresden final November, authorities stated Tuesday.

The operation was coordinated by police and prosecutors in Dresden, investigating the Nov. 25, 2019, theft of a big diamond brooch, a diamond epaulette and different treasures from the Saxony metropolis’s Green Vault Museum.
