West Virginia To Give Away Guns, Trucks, Cash As COVID-19 Vaccine Lottery Prizes

West Virginia plans to offer away weapons, vehicles, money and different prizes as a part of its COVID-19 vaccine incentive program.

From June 20 to August 4, the state will award a wide range of objects as a part of the lottery, Gov. Jim Justice (R) introduced Tuesday in a information convention. Vaccine incentives within the state have been in place since April when Justice introduced that residents between the ages of 16 and 35 had been eligible for a $100 financial savings bond for getting the jab, in an effort to encourage extra youthful residents to enroll.

Justice’s newest vaccine initiative goals to vaccinate 65% of all eligible West Virginians, 75% of West Virginians age 50 and older and 85% of West Virginians age 65 and older with at the least one dose by June 20. To date, roughly 51% of West Virginia’s inhabitants has acquired at the least one dose and 41% are absolutely vaccinated, per the state’s Health and Human Resources division.
